camila
age: ~early 20spersonality: impulsive, inventive, reckless
appearance: tall and wiry, dark brown 3a curls, wears weighted rings and cuffs to aid in focusing her movements (not pictured here sorry these are new developments)
abilities: snaps mana into form with forceful motions; uses objects to channel energy and stay focused
weapon: a simple, large sewing needle.
weakness: brittle weaves that could backfire in complex spells; lacks the discipline to form durable patterns
motive: wants respect and recognition in weaving but skips over the basics she finds boring
fidgety and nervous. therefore should suck at threading mana.
camila's approach to weaving is unorthodox and impulsive, bypassing traditional techniques and relying on shortcuts that few others would even think to try. she uses tools like metal cuffs on her wrists and weighted rings on her fingers to keep herself and her weapon - a giant sewing needle - steady, essentially "tricking" her body into a focused state. rather than delicately drawing mana into shape, she snaps it into her patterns using these motions. to the untrained eye, she appears to be weaving just fine, if a bit fast and erratic.
but to skilled weavers, camila's method is problematic. instead of letting mana flow naturally, she "forces" it with sudden tugs and pulls; her shortcuts also lead to localized disruptions and stress in the mana flow, causing little bursts of instability that can be dangerous in complex weaves.
camila can't simply "learn" traditional methods because of her own deeply ingrained restlessness. she lacks the patience for slow, deliberate techniques and bristles at the idea of conforming to them. every attempt at learning the traditional way just feels like a cage to her.
